Candy Shweder created Up-Island Pottery more than 30 years ago, throwing pots in her home studio in Chilmark, Massachusetts. Since 1987, Candy’s work has been available across the island in locations such as the Chilmark Flea, the Featherstone Gallery, Shaw Cramer Gallery and more. Currently, her work can be found at the Vineyard Artisans Festivals in West Tisbury.
Candy learned her craft at Lill Street Studios in Chicago, and refined her art at Foothill College and also the Palo Alto Art Center in California. She was named an Illinois Artisan in 1995.Her work has been sold in the shop of the American Craft Museum in New York City.
